Reunions

Oi! Class Reunions. Do you think someone invented those to remind themselves how old they were getting? I think I can safely say that I will not be attending this high school reunion. Hilary, Emily, please let those folks know that I didn't care enough about any of them to join them. I keep up with those from that time in my life that are important to me. If I wanted to see and talk to all those folks, I would have kept up with them too. Although it would be slightly interesting to see which people are losers and unemployed now. I assume that is the main attraction to reunions. To rub it in others' faces how successful or otherwise improved you are since high school and to make fun of those that were high and mighty then, but not so much now.

And on to other things... since that topic has already bored me... I am happy to say that after 2 and a half weeks of quesitonable poopy, Darcy has seemed to return to normal. Just a few days short of visiting a specialist if the problem didn't go away too. So we are relieved for that.

We have an exciting weekend planned of taking the dogs to the vet for their rattlesnake vaccine and going to a gun show. Plus the usual: mowing, checking cows, sheep, and giving the donkey a shot in the ass (no pun intended). Ha. Hope you all have as good a weekend as possible.

I am not going to our reunion. I think Emily (and I know she will read this) thinks that she may be able to convince me to go. She is mistaken. Whatever weekend that is, I have plans.

Oh girls. I would hope most people who attend will have gotten past the ridiculousness. I'm more interested in seeing how people have changed and hopefully, grown up.

Despite our differences, we all have something in common--growing up in small town Texas. That's a heritage that I'm coming to find is actually unique these days when most come from sprawling suburbs.

I will give it to Deanna that it's deer season, but Hils, I don't see you getting in a deer blind. You're totally going.

Also, do you remember our trip to the AstroDome for the state finals in the back of my Camry? I still have that sweatshirt hanging in my closet at my parents'.

i have to say, emily, you're right, i would hope that some of those folks have grown up a bit. but i also have to say, i still wouldn't go even if it wasn't during deer season (hils you can come here and go huntin with me if you want). you two are the only people that i care about enough to travel to see and i don't have to go to a reunion to do that.
