A Trip To Galveston

Doug and I ventured out to Galveston for the annual meeting of the Texas Chapter of the The Wildlife Society, a conference we try to go to when we can. We left Darcy at home! My parents graciously came in and kept her. And we're glad to say, it doesn't even seem like she missed us. Gran and Mike must have kept her busy! So now we know... I think we'll be leaving her a little more often than once every two years!

We got to go to the beach that was across the seawall from the hotel a few times. And while we picked up a lot of sea shells, took pictures of the sea and birds, we didn't manage to take a picture of the both of us. We're bad about that. So all I have are bird pictures.

We did have a great time at the conference catching up with old friends and new research. It kind of makes me want to go back to school... kind of.

How was Galveston recovered from the hurricane? Glad you had a good trip!

We saw a few places that looked like the damage hadn't been fixed yet, but we stayed on the seawall and everything looked pretty good there. Of course, we didn't go just all over though; most of the time we were in meetings!
