Our July 4th Weekend

Well, most folks spend their 4th holiday camping, or parading, or generally vacationing in some way. We worked. Well, I say we; Doug worked and Darcy and I rode around on the golf cart checking the cows that are calving. Here was one of many projects of the weekend. We poured a small area of contcrete in our front yard to use as a patio/play area. Here's the guys hard at work, with us watching from the porch (where we wouldn't get splattered). Darcy told them they were making a mess with all that stuff coming down the chute.

And of course, with freshly poured concrete, you have to make some kind of impression in it. So Darcy got to do the honors with handprints! Although she kept trying to put her hands down when they were trying to finish the concrete. Oops! We ended up having to go inside to keep her out of it.

Maybe now Doug can get some rest this week and go to his regular work. More updates later this week on our trip to the zoo we took for Darcy's belated birthday trip...

Look at those little handprints! Sounds like you have been busy!
