Zoo Day

Wow, May has flown by us it seems! We've done a lot, and now I have to try to catch up on all these pictures. Here goes... We visited the San Antonio Zoo during the week when Darcy's school went on a week long field trip to New Mexico. We didn't go on it (obviously) for several reasons, and thought we would take Darcy to the zoo while we could during the week. She had a great time with all the animals!

She did NOT like the smell in the area with the monkeys, and walked around like this for a while.

All she could talk about was the elephants, and we were able to catch the keeper doing his show with them. They did all sorts of tricks. And of course, when we hit the gift shop she went straight for the elephant stuffed animals.

We have pics with the hippos and the lion statue with her from 2 years ago, so we made sure to get the same shots this time so that we can look back and see the changes over the years.

We all really enjoy our zoo visits, and hope to make them more than once every two years in the future. If it wasn't so far away...

Long Overdue

We took Darcy to the San Antonio Zoo for her 2nd birthday, hoping to start a tradition of taking a small trip each year for her birthday. We all had a lot of fun, as this was right up our alley (we love animals)! Darcy had a good time too, but it was hot the day we went. We're hoping to take her back one day in the fall when it is cooler and we can spend more time without melting.

Doug thought it would be fun for Darcy to ride the lion.

They have an amazing section for kids under 5 with a river and sand beach they can play in.
